This full-time, night shift position, located in Stephenson County in Northern Illinois, is available for immediate hire!
The Maintenance Supervisor is a pivotal leader within the operations team, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. This role is responsible for driving production efficiency and minimizing downtime by leading a skilled maintenance team, streamlining processes, and addressing complex technical and mechanical challenges on the production floor. The Supervisor ensures that all equipment and systems are operating at peak performance, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. In addition to managing day-to-day maintenance operations, this individual provides hands-on leadership, mentors technical staff, oversees scheduling and performance, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support production goals and maintain regulatory compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This dynamic full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary of $80,000 to $95,000 (DOE) with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental coverage, F401(k) plan, Flexible spending account (FSA), Basic life and AD&D insurance, Short and long-term disability, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the maintenance team during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely support of plant operations.
- Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with production schedules and regulatory guidelines.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and technical issues, providing hands-on support when needed.
- Plan and coordinate operational and mechanical improvements in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Create and implement SOPs for maintenance activities in partnership with the Maintenance Manager and Director of Maintenance.
- Provide training, instruction, and technical support to technicians and operators to improve skill levels and team performance.
- Monitor OSHA compliance, company safety policies, and lead department-wide safety initiatives.
- Manage administrative functions including job assignments, vacation scheduling, crewing, and performance evaluations.
- Interface with vendors and contractors for parts procurement, service scheduling, and outsourced maintenance projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance work, installations, and performance metrics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably within food manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising maintenance or technical teams.
- Proven ability to establish and manage maintenance policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effective across departments and levels.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and maintenance tracking software.
- Demonstrated success in team leadership, safety compliance, and strategic planning.
