Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Auditor on behalf of our partner, a well-established nonprofit organization committed to elevating communities through business investment. This temporary, hybrid role is based in Southern California , with the opportunity to directly support communities in the Los Angeles area.

The ideal candidate will have extensive auditing experience, including strong experience in the nonprofit sector. They will be detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled in conducting financial audits, ensuring compliance, and identifying areas for process improvement. A successful candidate will bring expertise in QuickBooks Online, nonprofit financial regulations, and internal controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct comprehensive financial audits for the Board of Directors to ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting principles and regulations.

Analyze financial statements, transactions, and internal controls to assess accuracy and risk.

Prepare audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans.

Ensure adherence to GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Utilize QuickBooks Online for financial analysis, reporting, and data validation.

Collaborate with finance teams to evaluate and enhance financial reporting systems.

Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend best practices for financial management.

Assist with compliance audits, grant funding reviews, and risk assessments.

Support external auditors by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Perform other financial oversight duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

7 years of experience in auditing, including 5 years in nonprofit financial audits.

Bachelorâ?™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CIA certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, internal auditing principles, and grant compliance.

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting audit findings and collaborating with teams.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This temporary, hybrid opportunity in Los Angeles offers an hourly rate of $55-60 / hr. Additionally, this role includes :
