Scion Nonprofit Staffing  is seeking an HR Administrative Assistant for a renowned non-profit K-12 college preparatory school, focused on educating twice-exceptional studentsâ??bright, creative children who learn differently. This is a full-time contract to hire an opportunity based in New York, NY that offers an on-site work environment with a passionate team.

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is a temp-to-hire (TTH), onsite position, ideal for candidates with 2 years of experience in an office setting and HR administrative support.Â

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES : Â

  • Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and handling correspondence
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Maintain HR databases, track compliance, and generate reports as needed.
  • Assist with payroll processing, timesheet management, and benefits administration.
  • Coordinate company events, training sessions, and team meetings.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support HR operations
  • Assist with special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Entry-level role with 2 year experience in an office setting preferred.
  • Previous experience in an HR support or administrative role preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • A passion for HR and nonprofit work, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset.
  • COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS :
