Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Surgical Technology Instructor to join our partner, a respected higher educational institution in Evanston, IL! This full-time, direct-hire, onsite position offers competitive pay and the chance to support a dedicated faculty and engaged student body!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver course syllabi that outline objectives, content, and grading criteria.
- Prepare instructional materials for lectures, labs, and clinical sessions (as applicable).
- Conduct engaging and effective classroom instruction, ensuring all sessions meet scheduled times.
- Provide student consultation, evaluations, and maintain accurate records of performance and attendance.
- Adhere to institutional policies, including submission of grades, maintaining office hours, and compliance with instructional standards.
- Participate in curriculum planning, assessments of student learning, and departmental surveys.
- Serve on departmental and college-wide committees, contributing to institutional governance and professional development initiatives.
- Engage in accreditation activities and support college-related events, as mutually agreed upon with the Dean.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field or an associate degree combined with training and relevant experience.
- Documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program recognized by a national accreditation agency.
- Current credential in surgical technology through an NCCA-accredited national certification program.
- Minimum of five years (10,000 hours) of recent experience in the operating room scrub role, as a surgical technology instructor, or a combination of both within the past ten years.
- College teaching experience and online teaching experience preferred.
Compensation:
