The Admissions Clerk obtains insurance, and financial data information necessary to pre-admit or admit
patient. Prepares necessary charts with consent forms. Collects required deposits. Assigns room and
prepares items related to admission. Interprets physician's orders for admissions and orders tests as
specified. May also refer, transfer and discharge patients in accordance with established practices.
