Bachelor’s degree in business, concentration in accounting, required.
Certifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), highly desired

- Maintain and monitor appropriate financial controls.
- Oversees and directs the monthly preparation of utilization and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Research and resolves problems pertaining to financial reporting systems, ensuring compliance with hospital procedures and policies.
- Applies a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); verifies documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies.
- Works with managers to develop departmental budgets in conjunction with the organization’s overall goals and individual department productivity standards.
- Performs year end closing activities; prepares the requested year end spreadsheets and reports for audit.
- Provides analytical reports to monitor the performance of areas of the hospital or physician practices.
- Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary.
- Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare, maintaining compliance with accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements
- Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, concentration in accounting, required.
Certifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), highly desired
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ accounting experience with at least three (3) years in a position of supervisory level, having management responsibilities, required.
- Experience performing audits in a healthcare related field or public accounting, required.
