JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for onsite training, implementation, and support of EMR within an ambulatory practice setting.
- Serves as the EMR Coordinator for the Athena system, HNI/Vitals, Kyruus (formerly Epion), and other Physician Practice systems.
- Completes and submits all User Access Forms for new users and role changes for existing user. Performs the first audit level of user roles and access for the quarterly SOX control.
- Works with the CPRMC IT team to troubleshoot and test equipment and software in the clinics.
- Conduct and coordinate new and existing staff on the EMR functions and workflow.
- Serves as the resident Athena Clinical Support person (trained at the HSC for this role).
- Provides updates to clinic staff regarding EMR system.
- Analyzes business processes and data to identify opportunities to automate and/or improve existing processes using information technology.
- Performs market and industry research to support conclusions and recommendations. Develops and provides recommendations regarding business process/performance improvements.
- Serves as a consultant to management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies, and procedures. Serves as key customer contact for inquiries and resolution of customer issues
- Ability to assemble Information and develop reports and documents in a concise, clear and effective manner.
- Involvement in deployment of clinical solutions, involved in developing new workflows, able to manage and participate in multiple site installations at once, participate in EMR upgrades, new functionality, documentation, and testing.
- Provide support to end users to triage and troubleshoot EMR issues.
- Adherence to all core measure initiatives, patient safety goals, and NQF Safe Practices.
- Performs analysis, research, development, planning, implementation, and oversight of EMR project initiatives to maximize effective and efficient utilization of the EMR.
- Manages HSC priority SuperUser Projects and scheduled EMR maintenance tasks.
- Conducts initial and on-going EMR training, standardization, and competency sessions.
- Provide on-site support during new provider/clinic go-lives, optimization visits from HSC teams and new quarterly functionality releases from Athena.
- Perform Collector/Clinical/Communicator build/configurations as outlined in the HSC Athena SuperUser Manual. (Consumer Scheduling, Provider Adds, Fee Schedule Maintenance for Non PBB markets, ReminderCall Settings, etc.)
- Work with Local IT/Practice Managers to establish new user provisioning.
- Conducts and facilitates EMR initiatives for compliance with federal and state regulations (Meaningful Use (MU), Physician Quality Reporting Systems (PQRS, etc.)
- Supports and works with key stakeholders to develop and implement EMR/IT policies, procedures, standards, and objectives.
- Work with the Implementation/Practice Managers to coordinate training issues and risks associated with projects.
- Communicate effectively with market staff to deliver Athena updates/workflow changes and provide timely status updates.
- Attends scheduled monthly superuser calls conducted by HSC teams. (I.E. Athena HSC Clinical team, Athena MIPS monthly call, etc.
- Attends scheduled yearly superuser training conducted by Athena HSC Clinical team
- Troubleshoot and escalate market user issues based on HSC escalation policy.
- Valid RN license required
- 1-3 years of clinical involvement required.
