As a Registered Nurse (ER RN) at ScionHealth, comprehensive patient care in the emergency room is my responsibility. I oversee nursing processes such as assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Leading and supervising licensed and non-licensed personnel, I ensure high standards of nursing care while educating patients and their families. Flexibility in scheduling and age-specific care are critical in delivering effective healthcare in a fast-paced environment.

The registered nurse assumes principal responsibility for total care of assigned clients in the respective unit. This includes assessing and reassessing client needs, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and evaluating the effectiveness of those plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of clients to identify their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Planning: Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on client assessments and goals.
• Implementation: Implement plans of care through direct and indirect care activities.
• Evaluation: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of plans of care and make adjustments as needed.

Leadership and Supervision:

As a registered nurse, I am responsible for leading and supervising other team members to ensure optimal standards of nursing care are maintained.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree: Required

Required Skills:

• Frequent exposure to stressful situations
• Effective verbal communication to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice
• Ability to accept responsibility and accountability for providing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care
• Cognitive ability and practical skills to provide nursing care appropriate to the patient population

Required Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Required Licenses:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Alabama
