Job Summary
- Performs patient observation, documents patient care and response to care and communicates significant information to the registered nurse and other appropriate team members.
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment
- Perform these duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Provide point of care for all patients, regardless of isolation status
- Functions as a member of the Patient Care Team in conjunction with the Licensed Direct Care Giver
- Monitoring patients within line of sight who are impulsive and at high risk for falls, pulling out medical or treatment devices, and elopement
- Monitor patients as one to one observation who are at high risk for suicide
- Providing patients with emotional support
- Alerting nurses when patients need help or intervention
- Detecting changes in the patient condition
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Help set up meal trays, change bed linens, and remove trash from the room
- Must read, write and speak fluent English
- Must have good and regular attendance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Education
- High school graduate or GED
- BLS certification required
- De-escalation training required
