Job Summary

• Performs patient observation, documents patient care and response to care and communicates significant information to the registered nurse and other appropriate team members.
  
  

Essential Functions

• Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment
• Perform these duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Provide point of care for all patients, regardless of isolation status
• Functions as a member of the Patient Care Team in conjunction with the Licensed Direct Care Giver
• Monitoring patients within line of sight who are impulsive and at high risk for falls, pulling out medical or treatment devices, and elopement
• Monitor patients as one to one observation who are at high risk for suicide
• Providing patients with emotional support
• Alerting nurses when patients need help or intervention
• Detecting changes in the patient condition
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Help set up meal trays, change bed linens, and remove trash from the room
  
  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

• Must read, write and speak fluent English
• Must have good and regular attendance
• Performs other related duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

Education

• High school graduate or GED
  
  

License/Certification

• BLS certification required
• De-escalation training required
