Job Summary: Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and/or Nursing Unit Director, a Registered Nurse (RN) performs patient care duties for the assigned unit or department. The RN plans, provides, and evaluates total nursing care in accordance with the established patient care philosophy. They facilitate individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and primary nursing principles in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Effective communication with other shifts ensures continuity of care, while maintaining satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units. Additionally, the RN participates in all phases of education.

- § Identify existing and potential problems and implement appropriate solutions.
§ Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. Administer medication as necessary and document patient care provided.
§ Provide nursing care through planning, organizing, and facilitating the nursing function for assigned patients.
§ Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
§ Monitor, document, and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with RNs, physicians, patients, and families.
§ Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Requirements:
- Minimum Education: Associate degree in Nursing (required), Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Required Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS within one year of hire, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within one year of hire, NRP within one year of hire.
- Licenses: Valid licensure in the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse (RN) or multi-state/compact RN license.
- Minimum Work Experience: Six (6) months of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a direct patient care setting unless entering into the Nurse Residency Program.
