The Bradley Center of St. Francis-Emory Healthcare is seeking a Transporter Mental Health Tech to assure our patients are getting to and from the Bradley Center. This Transporter MHT will be responsible for driving patients and providing mental health care to patients in our department. Essential Functions:
- To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Transports patients to and from the Bradley Center to appointments and their homes up to 2 hours plus away
- Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers and assist with managing patient's belongings
- Delivers equipment and lab specimens to requesting staff or department. Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors
- Observe and report information about patient behavior to the medical staff, including mood swings and the wellbeing of their patients
- Listen to patients' concerns, observe their behavior, and record their condition. Lead patients in therapeutic and recreational activities
- Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral problems and aids in crisis intervention if needed
- Transport patients to and from appointments, clinics, laboratories, and/or treatments, as and when appropriate.
Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Two (2) years of collegiate coursework to include general psychology, interpersonal communication, abnormal psychology, and/or human growth and development is preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Handle with Care Certification or CPI within 90 days of hire
- Valid Driver's license with clean driving record
- One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
