About the Role:
The successful Service Manager (SM) at Scioto Country Club (SCC) will need to be an approachable, visible, hands-on, and accessible leader to both the members and staff alike. The position is responsible for all member services and member experience throughout the Club. The SM will directly supervise the training of all Food & Beverage team members and Catering team members and ensure that the wants and needs of members and guests are consistently exceeded. The SM at SCC will report to the Assistant General Manager (AGM) and Food & Beverage Manager.
This position requires a high degree of grace, visibility, and a strong eye for personalized service, in addition to a hands-on management style. The SM should sincerely engage with all members and their guests. The role of SM at SCC requires a strong embrace of the traditions of the Club and the family atmosphere. This individual should maintain constant communication with all department heads to ensure consistency throughout the Club.
Responsibilities:
- Works with AGM to develop an operating budget for each of the department’s revenue outlets; Monitors and takes corrective action, as necessary, to help ensure that budgeted revenues and cost goals are attained
- Identifies and trains on all aspects of the member experience
- Manages long-range staffing models
- Manages all training of new and existing staff
- Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented
- Assured that all standard operating procedures for service are in place and consistently followed
- Establishes and maintains professional business relations with staff and members
- Serves as manager-on-duty for the entire Club campus on a scheduled basis
- Completes other appropriate assignments from the F&B Manager & Assistant General Manager
- Performs daily walkthroughs of the F&B areas to make sure they are clean, neat, and professionally maintained
- Assures cleanliness, appearance, and safety of the facility along with all equipment and fixtures, including all storage areas
- Enforces established rules, regulations, and policies as implemented by management
- Directs pre-shift meetings with staff to relay any information as well as concentrate on improvement
- Works with F&B Manager to provide employees with their annual and constant performance reviews
- Develops & updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food & beverage, clubhouse, & all seasonal outlets
Minimum Qualifications:
- Five years of upscale experience in food and beverage management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the food service industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Five-day workweek; must be available nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience in budget management and financial forecasting.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation.
