Summary:
The Special Events and Sponsorships Coordinator is responsible for the success of Myriad Botanical Gardens and Scissortail Park’s fundraising and donor cultivation-related events, as well as, soliciting individuals, corporations, and foundations for sponsorship support. This role plans, manages, and implements all fundraising and cultivation events in collaboration with staff and volunteer leadership. Events are designed to raise funds for Myriad Botanical Gardens or Scissortail Park and promote community awareness of each organization. This role also develops and executes plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, and recognize sponsors of public and special events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Special Events (50%)
· In collaboration with the Vice President of Development, develop and launch a strategy to maximize return on investment for fundraising events for Myriad Botanical Gardens and Scissortail Park with direct accountability for goals outlined in the annual budget.
· Create and manage implementation, production, and close-out of all events, including vendor relationships, budgets, timelines, pledge fulfillments, and event logistics.
· Research, identify, cultivate, and solicit new and existing donors for enhanced or increased partnership opportunities to support fundraising events and the mission of Myriad Botanical Gardens and Scissortail Park in collaboration with the Development Team.
· Provide leadership, guidance, and direction as the primary staff liaison to volunteer event chair(s) and committee(s) for assigned fundraising and cultivation events.
· Ensure highly professional and memorable events inspire each organization's mission.
· Generate reports and monitor event outcomes, including revenue, expenses, and results, to evaluate and increase fundraising event program growth and to recommend improvements.
· Create and collaborate with other departments and staff on fundraising events or funding project plans and participate in budget development.
· Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop events-related materials, including media releases, social media posts, photo sessions, sponsor recognition, and printed collateral.
Sponsorships (30%)
· In collaboration with the Vice President of Development and the Development team, work proactively to secure sponsors for public and special events.
· Research, identify, cultivate, and solicit new and existing donors for enhanced or increased sponsorship opportunities to support public events and the mission of Myriad Botanical Gardens and Scissortail Park in collaboration with the Development Team.
Administration (20%)
· Manage and maintain accurate records in the Altru donor database.
· Participate actively in the larger Development team, strategizing new ways to increase revenue for the Garden and Park.
· Maintain strong institutional relationships across the Gardena and Park to ensure the success of shared project goals.
Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
· At least two years of fundraising, event planning, marketing, advertising, or relevant experience.
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
· Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel.
· Use of donor database(s) preferred.
· Experience with standard office equipment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
· Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License

· Ability to plan, implement, and manage multiple facets of a major gifts program.

· Strong commitment to teamwork.
Work Environment
Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors. Some locations visited while executing job duties may not be wheelchair accessible; some time may be spent outside. Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.

· Must be able to climb stairs.
· Must be able to walk from the office building to the Garden and/or Park facility.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
