POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Special Education ESY Physical Therapist’’s primary responsibility is to provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities to work on their gross motor IEP goals to help them avoid substantial regression.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements IEP’s with measurable goals within the domain of physical therapy and gross motor skills.
- Provide direct physical therapy services that are educationally relevant within a school setting.
- Make data-driven instructional decisions to improve student outcomes.
- Collect data on student performance to improve student outcomes and direct instruction.
- Interpret formal and informal assessments as appropriate.
- Select and adapts materials to assist students with disabilities to access the general education curriculum.
- Plan evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students.
- Provide consultation to parents, teachers and other appropriate school personnel.
- Complete all special education paperwork accurately, including progress reports for each student at the conclusion of ESY.
- Adhere to established rules, regulations,laws and appropriate ethical practices
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
QUALIFICATIONS-REQUIRED:
- Master’s Degree
- Massachusetts License as Physical Therapist
- Expertise with curriculum modification and differentiated instructional practices.
- Knowledge of the requirements of state and federal regulations.
- Proficiency in educational diagnostic and prescriptive testing within the realm of physical therapy.
- Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS-PREFERRED:
- PhD
- A minimum of two years' successful experience as a physical therapist is preferred.
TERMS: Part-time, Summer 2025, Pay is $51.02 per hour or based on individual vendor contract (non-employee).
