The Scituate School Department is seeking a dynamic 1.0 Substitute Title I interventionist for Hope Elementary School. The successful candidate must submit a clear BCI Check from the RI Department of Attorney General prior to appointment. Please read the qualifications and expectations for this position below carefully. The preference of the department is for the successful applicant to hold BOTH certificates.

Assist in administering benchmark assessmentsCollect and analyze multiple sources of data to determine students at riskAssist in the identification of students who are at risk of performing below grade level in English Language Arts and/or MathematicsDevelop intervention plans for identified studentsIdentify, develop and administer targeted interventions to identified studentsPrepare and employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectivesCreate an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of studentsGuide the learning process toward the achievement of intervention goals and establish and communicate clear objectives to studentsWork with individual students or small groups for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching grade-level standardsProgress monitor the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and document progress utilizing Tier 2 and Tier 3 reports for each round of interventionConsult with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basisOther duties as assigned by the elementary principal
