What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry-Level CAD Technician position at SCJ Alliance?
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic CAD technician with 0-2 years of experience to assist our transportation engineers with CAD drafting for transportation-related projects and produce drawings, layouts, and sketches to help execute a wide variety of projects out of our Wenatchee office. Our transportation engineering work is varied, detail- and specification-dependent, and we welcome new opportunities and challenges. We tailor our work to the individual needs of our clients, their projects, and their communities; it often entails inquiry and exploration to identify optimal strategies, recommendations, and outcomes.

What you’ll be doing
- Interesting and challenging work that builds communities.
- Completing CAD drawings. Prepare and revise drawings from rough sketches, mark-ups, or general engineering and design information and put the finishing touches on them with labeling, layering, and sheet layout in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Use the appropriate agency standards and SCJ standards, use appropriate levels, colors, line styles, weights, fonts, etc.
- Set-up drawings. Setting up projects and sheet layouts utilizing SCJ Alliance and/or Client CAD standards.
- Site visits and observations. We want you to get out of the office on occasion to walk and photograph the sites you’re helping the project design team deliver.
- Supporting project managers and senior engineers. You’ll be assisting with meeting project schedules, managing project budgets, and achieving company quality goals.
- Ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
What you bring
- Completed or an in-progress Associate’s Degree or certificate in Civil Design Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting, or similar field (preferred)
- High school diploma
- Generally, 0-2 years (or more) of drafting and CAD production experience
- AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience

Salary : $23 - $35
