The Packaging Machine Operator I performs at least one function in the operation of the packaging lines and helps maintain quality and efficient operations of the packaging line machinery within the packaging department. Documents production paperwork properly and follows and implements product specifications.

Estimated starting annual base salary is $20.90 per hour less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. • Perform change over, change of film, verification of packaging specifications and other related activities.
• Use safe and proper procedures to operate machinery.
• Identify and collaborate on improvements to increase efficiencies and reduce waste.
• Follow and suggest improvements to written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain understanding of company standards of quality and how to produce quality items.
• Adhere to Company policies including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safety.
• Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork for production runs on a daily basis.
• Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance.
• Assist in projecting manufactured inventories for the packaging lines.
• Assist in coordinating with the other departments within manufacturing area to ensure sufficient product levels.
• Work in a team-oriented environment with other machine operators including at shift changes to ensure proper setup and status of materials.
• Support training of fellow staff as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a light industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate reading comprehension, decision-making, teamwork, time-management, analytical and mechanical skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with production management software.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
