The Stability Program Manager is responsible for managing the company stability program and ensuring compliance with dietary supplement regulations and customer requirements. As a member of the Research & Development (R&D) team, this position works closely with Innovation Scientists, Product Managers, Quality teams, internal and external laboratories, and with contract customers’ technical teams to develop, execute, and monitor appropriate stability programs and testing plans. The Stability Program Manager provides stability analysis and reports, develops and implements the stability strategy for company owned formulas, proposes risk mitigations to the technical leadership team, and supports R&D, Quality, and Commercial teams on determining active ingredient overage and new product shelf life. This position also leads stability related Out of Spec (OOS) investigations, drives corrective actions to ensure compliance, and supervises program staff.
Estimated starting annual base salary is $114,257.08 - $171,385.62 per year less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage company and customer (as required) stability programs for new products, including issuing stability protocols and reports, coordinating and managing samples, reporting and analyzing data, providing study quotes and managing invoices.
- Design, maintain, and oversee private label product routine stability program.
- Manage contract customer routine stability program as required.
- Ensure proper function and maintenance of the company’s stability chambers.
- Maintain stability databases.
- Analyze stability data and report trends to R&D and Quality. Provide recommendations including active ingredient overage, release limits, and shelf-life adjustment.
- Collaborate with Innovation Scientists to develop and execute developmental stability protocols.
- Collaborate with cross functional innovation teams and Management to develop product launch stability strategies.
- Lead stability related investigations (OOS, OOT, etc.) in collaboration with R&D, Quality, testing labs, and customers’ technical teams. Provide regular reports and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
- Present stability program related documentation to auditors.
- Design and execute excursion studies for new product types (as requested).
- Support R&D continuous process improvement activities.
- Provide guidance to the company’s VMS R&D and stability team network, setting study requirements for private label products and sharing stability learnings to troubleshoot issues as needed.
People Leader Responsibilities
This position carries out people leader responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:
- Train, lead, mentor, and provide task direction to team members and On the Job Training (OJT) for new hires.
- Hire, supervise, train, develop, and coach direct reports, as needed.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage individual performance of direct reports.
- Communicate personnel actions following HR and Department Head approval.
- Ensure safety and quality standards are enforced and met.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, technology, engineering, or related field.
- 9 years’ work experience in the food or dietary supplement industry, with at least 6 years in Operations, R&D, or Quality related functions.
- 2 years of progressive leadership or 1 year of direct supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
- Computer proficiency including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Access).
- Able to lead complex projects and adjust work priorities quickly to meet changing demands.
- Expert innovation, organization, teamwork, time management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to create and present data in chart format
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, data trending and prediction, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.
- Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Gummy manufacturing experience.
