What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Administrative Assistant position at SCO Family of Services?
- Provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Dept.
- Answers incoming telephone calls and directs them to the appropriate individual
- Open, sort, review and distribute mail, or other correspondence; prepare responses to routine inquiries
- Type memos, reports, and meeting minutes, which may be confidential in nature; Maintains a high level of confidentiality
- Data entry of performance evaluations, employee physicals and other receipts into HRIS system (Serenic Navigator)
- Completes all required Criminal Background Checks including Authorized Driver Determinations utilizing the DMV system, as required for each program
- Establish, maintain and revise record keeping and filing systems. Classify, sort and file correspondence, records and all other HR documentation
- Responds to unemployment insurance claims by forwarding separation information to appropriate representative
- Provides support with preparing personnel files and documentation for audits
- Drafts employment verification letters and correspondence as requested.
- Sets up appointments and generates employee ID Cards for staff.
- Ensures an adequate inventory of all office supplies and places orders accordingly

Qualifications - External
- Minimum of two years working in a general office environment
- HS Diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint)
- Previous experience working with Oracle, Serenic Navigator, or a similar HRIS system preferred; prior experience utilizing an applicant tracking system, such as Taleo, is also an asset
- Must display a pleasant and professional telephone demeanor; good written and verbal communication skills
- Some knowledge of Human Resources or the Social Services is preferred
