What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Teacher 3K Extended Day position at SCO Family of Services?
LEAD TEACHER 3K EXTENDED DAY
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Plan and implement individual educational plans for children, which supports their development socially, intellectually, linguistically, physically, and emotionally in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Provide early learning experiences in social-emotional development, literacy, language, mathematics, sciences, social studies, physical education, fine arts, foreign language, and other subject matter suited to the needs of children.
- Develop and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment favorable to the development and personal growth of children.
- Prepare classroom a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support instruction.
- Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
- Enter and maintain classroom and child data.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
- Regularly meet with classroom teacher and the Education director to review classroom and child data, develop action plans, and support goal achievement through active collaboration.
- Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
- Work with the inter-disciplinary team in the provision of all job duties.
- Promote and support the environment of positive behavior support.
- Promote pro-social behaviors and interactions between student and staff.
- Support and participate in behavior management program.
- Attend in-service training sessions, staff meetings and seminars as needed.
- Serve as a role model for students, maintaining values such as integrity, respect for self and all others, dignity, self-control and respect.
- Participate in reflective supervision with Education Director.
- Implement all programming requirements in adherence to all performance outcome standards as prescribed by the multiple funding and model requirements.
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment; conduct daily health and environment checks; ensure that classroom equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors/master’s degree in early childhood or related field from an accredited institution (NYS certification preferred) study plan accepted.
