Parent Advocate (Bilingual Spanish Speaking)
Program: SUFFOLK COUNTY PREVENTIVE SERVICES
Basic Function of Position: To provide support and assistance to Preventive Services families who are participating the program.
Responsibilities:
*Work as an advocate for the preventive services clients and families
*Help teach parenting skills § Help parents identify neighborhood resources
*Collaborate with caseworkers
*Regularly report on all activities preformed for and/or with clients
*Provide support to the families in the program
*Assist families in connecting with community programs
*Assist in emergency situation
*Plan recreational activities with the clients
*On-Call 24/7 for emergency/crisis situations. Work Cell phone will be provided and must be in on at all times
Qualifications:
*High School Diploma
*Experience with social services
*Bilingual, Spanish Speaking is Required
*Valid NYS drivers license
