Store Manager - Job Description
Leading & Coaching Your Team
- Direct the barista station workflow and maintain quality and speed of service
- Maintain confident, positive demeanor during stressful circumstances
- Manage employee performance and build employee morale
- Coach and provide instruction to employees on a regular basis
- Hold team members accountable to all company policies and procedures
- Oversee and / or provide training to all new employees with assistance from Assistant Manager or other highly qualified Barista
- Provide constant feedback to motivate and improve employee performance
- Conduct quarterly team meetings, or more as needed
- Uphold team morale by discouraging drama and encouraging a strong team spirit
- Be available to answer employee calls / questions at all times
- Coach team members on what constitutes an emergency and what decisions should be handled without the need for a call to the Manager or Assistant Manager
- Handle disciplinary action with employees as needed. Contact District Manager immediately if an employee is not performing well and termination is necessary
Paperwork Tasks & Meetings
Scheduling - Maintain consistent store schedule. Schedule posted in store no later than Saturday by 5 : 00p for the following weekInventory & Harvest Order - Oversight of inventory and Harvest orders every week. Store Manager can and should delegate the completion of inventory and placing the order in the cart to Assistant Manager or other highly qualified Barista. Store manager will then review, make sure proper items are being ordered, and submit order in a timely fashion.Harvest Delivery - Oversight of Harvest Delivery each week. Maintain records of backordered items and follow-up with warehouse to ensure delivery of any missing itemsLabor and COGS Budget Management - Schedule according to your store’s Labor Guide (determined by District Manager), and monitor product waste and inventory levels (COGS)Deposits and Cash Handling - Make store deposits every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Monitor daily cash overage / shortage and follow up with appropriate team members when necessary. If over or under more than $15.00 in one day, email DM explaining why.Goal Setting - Submit store sales goal board each month to District Manager, via email. Due on last day of previous monthMonthly Envelope - Make sure all invoices, important mail, paid out receipts, and Harvest order sheets ready for pick up by District Manager on the first business day of the following month.Weekly - text invoices, paid out receipts and important mail to as they arrive in store.Interviewing, Training, & Hiring - Conduct interviews weekly, and hire quality team members as neededComplete onboarding of New Hires; New Employee Packet and adding to HomebaseGo through Scooters Employee Handbook with all new employeesStore Email - Check store email address everyday when on shift, after morning rush. Respond promptly (during your scheduled working hours) to emails from Corporate or Straub Enterprise Leadership Team. Communicate important information to team members.Meet with District Manager monthly - Use good judgement to determine when to contact District Manager, outside of meetings and store visits, to assist with store or employee situations that may ariseBring any and all ideas regarding marketing initiatives, store sales growth opportunities, team building, paperwork questions, etc. to the monthly meetingStore Cleanliness
Maintain clean store and friendly environment - ensure all deep cleaning and daily cleaning is handled by staff which includes, but is not limited to the following :Outside daily details : ensure trash is picked up from parking lot and yard, outside tables are arranged neatly, weeds are pulledInside daily details : front door, front / side windows, and drive thru window are free of fingerprints, tables and chairs are clean and neatly arranged, condiment station is neat, displays are arranged nicely with all items forward facing, displays are kept full, pastry case is windexed and crumbs are wiped out constantly, window sills in store are wiped down daily for bugs, display shelves are dusted regularlySame Store Sales Growth
