SUMMARY: The Assistant Manager sets an ‘upbeat and happy tone’ for the store. He/she ensures that
the mission, principles, and Scooter's touchstones are carried out, embraced, and modeled by Baristas in
the Store Manager's absence. The Assistant Manager is the Head Barista and a role model for all other
Baristas. He/she exhibits a high level of customer service, extensive product knowledge, the ability to
assist in training, and aQen,veness to store appearance and Barista behavior.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Sta? Management
o Assists the Store Manager with hiring, training, overseeing and retaining employees
o Primary Barista trainer
o Assists with scheduling when required
o Openly conveys customer and Barista feedback to store manager
o Enforces dress code
o Maintains posi,ve employee morale
• Product/Store Management
o Makes and services specialty co?ee and tea beverages
o Adheres to recipes and safety guidelines
o Ensures product quality and a premium customer experience while maintaining a pleasant store
appearance in the absence of a store manager; maintains safe working condi,ons
o Assists with bi-weekly inventory; orders and tracks using COGS
o Inspects supplies and equipment to ensure they are working properly
o Performs open/closing procedures and reports as needed
o Works jointly with Store Manager to ensure all store opera,ons are op,mized; that employees
comply with health and food safety standards and regula,ons
o Covers shi^s as needed
o Covers Store Manager’s du,es in Store Manager’s absence

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Educa@on and Work Experience
o High School diploma
o 1-2 years of customer service experience required
o Must have a current driver’s license

o Must be able to deal professionally and tac_ully with customers and sta? at all ,mes
o Must have good interpersonal communica,on skills
o Must work e?ciently in a quick-paced environment; be able to mul,-task and priori,ze
