As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for production components, ensuring alignment with customer demands and company standards. Your role will involve cost/price analysis, supplier selection and evaluation, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will also be a key liaison between various internal departments and external suppliers, resolving any issues related to supplier materials, quality, and invoicing.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Analysis: Utilize the MRP system to analyze procurement requirements and ensure the timely acquisition of production components.
Purchasing Administration: Oversee the purchasing of materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services, ensuring compliance with specifications and achieving cost-effectiveness.
Cost/Price Negotiation: Conduct cost/price analysis and negotiate contracts to secure the best quality, price, and delivery terms.
Supplier Management: Select and evaluate suppliers, monitoring them for quality and on-time delivery.
Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with departments such as Planning, Quality, Engineering, Overhaul & Repair, Estimating, Facilities, Accounting/Finance, Contracts, Receiving, Shipping, and Stock Room.
Market Research: Research, analyze, and forecast market trends to optimize purchasing commitments.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accuracy and compliance with ITAR regulations, DPAS regulations, First Article Requirements, and Part Revisions on all purchase orders.
Issue Resolution: Ensure the timely receipt of supplier parts by resolving any issues that arise.
Non-Conforming Materials: Process non-conforming supplier materials promptly to prevent part shortages.
Invoicing Liaison: Act as a liaison between suppliers and the Accounts Payable department to resolve invoicing issues.
Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education: BS Degree required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a buyer in the manufacturing industry is essential.
Skills: Knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings and familiarity with Aerospace/Military standards is a plus.
