We are seeking a skilled CO₂ Laser Operator to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining CO₂ laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CO₂ laser cutting machines to cut metal and other materials according to job specifications.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts from the laser machine.
- Adjust machine settings, parameters, and speeds to optimize cutting performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of laser equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with production teams, engineers, and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, material usage, and machine performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience operating CO₂ laser cutting machines (required).
- Strong understanding of laser cutting principles, settings, and material characteristics.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Basic CNC programming knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace safety and best practices.
- Experience with Mazak laser cutting machines is a plus but not required.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification or vocational training in machining, manufacturing, or CNC operations is a plus.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience operating CO₂ laser cutting machines.
