Role Overview:
Our confidential client is seeking a Puppet Engineer to support the day-to-day administration and maintenance of a large-scale Puppet infrastructure. This role will be heavily focused on system automation, troubleshooting, and supporting both Linux and Windows agents within a CI/CD environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with Puppet (Open Source & Enterprise), advanced programming skills in Ruby, and strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines—ideally with GitHub Actions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Open Source and Puppet Enterprise infrastructure (enterprise scale).
• Participate in the ongoing Puppet 7 to 8 migration project.
• Perform system troubleshooting and break/fix support.
• Refactor and manage Puppet configurations using Ruby.
• Integrate automation scripts and workflows using PowerShell and Python.
• Support infrastructure for both Linux and Windows agents (Windows administration experience not required).
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipeline integration, especially using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Puppet Open Source and Puppet Enterprise.
  
• Advanced programming skills:
  
  • Ruby (Puppet administration & refactoring)
    
  • PowerShell/Python (integration and automation)
    
• CI/CD experience with tools such as:
  
  • GitHub Actions (preferred)
    
  • Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps
    
• Experience supporting mixed environments with Linux and Windows Puppet agents.
  

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  
• Familiarity with enterprise Windows environments.
