What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP, Structurer - Financial Solutions position at SCOR?
The position serves will take a key role in designing and executing financial solutions transactions that address the capital needs of insurance companies, both long term (inforce transactions) and short/intermediate term (remote risk). This person will focus on deal structuring/negotiations, internal approvals, deal execution, and new solution development, as well as supporting transaction origination. This position requires the individual to be innovative and experienced with a high level of financial, actuarial and reinsurance skills. Prior modeling experience is preferred, to review and problem-solve the contributions of other team members.
Origination support:
- Collaborate to help US traditional market team source, market, and design client solutions.
- Attend and participate in industry and client events.
- Identify, design and present client-specific FinSol solutions
Deal execution : own or support the end-to-end process:
- Transaction origination (RFP receipt or bilateral discussion)
- Analyze opportunity and forming solution – includes deal structure, overseeing transaction analysis, initial pricing
- Obtain internal transaction approvals (drafting leading review process and LCT/COMEX discussion)
- Lead due diligence, support treaty drafting and lead/support negotiation, as applicable
- Help coordinate post-close transition
Product Development: help design new solutions by:
- Identifying client needs via marketing actuaries and other industry sources
- Learn and keep abreast of regulatory changes
- Gain necessary product knowledge to develop viable solutions, which may include working with internal SME, hiring consultants, and modelling/accounting research
- Help map the best path forward to get internal acceptability
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- FSA, designation preferred
- 10 yrs experience in (re)/insurance, ideally with exposure to product development
- Knowledge of statutory accounting
- Ability to lead large, complex projects and transactions
- Ability to build and retain team dynamic, while taking a broader company view
- Attention to detail, while maintaining the “big picture”
- Transactional experience a plus
- Document review a plus Presentation and client facing skills

Pay Range for role: $161,000-$218,000 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives.
