Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment in various healthcare settings. This role requires a professional communicator with strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with complex systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Duties
- Install, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of equipment malfunctions using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on medical devices to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment for repairs and adjustments.
- Document all service activities in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to provide training on proper equipment usage and safety protocols.
- Stay updated on OEM guidelines and industry best practices for medical equipment management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in field service or a similar role involving medical equipment repair and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in calibrating equipment and performing routine maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with computer hardware related to medical devices is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service delivery.
- Valid driver's license, required to travel (insurance coverage only ages 23 to 72 with clean driving record).
