Scosche is building our Finance/Accounting Team and is seeking a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant supports Financial Reporting and reports to the Controller. In this important role, you will take ownership of the reporting and internal control processes.
Some of the responsibilities in this role are:
- Month-end close and presentation of the balance sheet, cash flow, and income statement results to the Controller and CFO supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.
- Draft and ensure compliance with the Company’s financial policies/procedures and other matters related to compliance such as: asset control, capital expenses, other financial controls.
- Prepare and analyze account reconciliations and highlight to management potential issues affecting expenses, balances, or cash flow.
- Prepare and file GST tax return, personal property tax and government filings.
- Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately monthly.
- Assist in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including consolidating “Budget vs.
- Actual” variance reports. Assist in reviewing analyses of significant variances: financial and tax audits; in preparing assigned schedules for the annual Accounting Review and interim audits.
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls. Continually improve business processes to ensure best practices from both a systems and process perspective.
- Prepare monthly financials for affiliated companies. Work with audit firm to prepare all documents requested in US and Asia.
- Assist in preparation of department budgets and distribute budget vs actual reports monthly.
- Prepare monthly bank documents, quarterly covenant reporting, and assist in reviews when necessary.
- Oversee AMEX spend reports, track employee accounts and dispute charges. Prepare daily cash book, sales total and inventory reports for executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- 5 years accounting/finance experience, public accounting experience preferred by not required.
- Experience with ERP Systems.
