TITLE : Manager, US Risk Management
DUTIES : The Bank of Nova Scotia seeks Manager, US Risk Management in Houston, TX to manage a portfolio of individual credits across multiple corporate industries. Play a lead role in assessing, adjudicating and monitoring both individual credits and the coverage portfolio. Identify risk mitigation opportunities where appropriate. Ensure that all credit adjudication(s) and daily practices adhere to Bank policies and procedures. Prepare information for responding to regulatory inquiries and audits. Coordinate and work with Head Office Global Risk Management, in matters related to the presentation of the global view of credit risk related to portfolios. Lead special projects within U.S. Credit Risk Management related to broader strategic initiatives and the development of portfolio management and reporting capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation : utilizing experience with banking lending policies, procedures, and practices; working with credit risk and structures and protections required for performing credit analysis including lending and derivative products and documentations; utilizing experience with finance and accounting including financial projections and sensitivities; utilizing experience with software including Moody’s, CapIQ, FactSet, Credit Benchmark, Bloomberg and Microsoft package; utilizing writing skills to draft credit presentations, industry reviews and executive summaries. Telecommuting and / or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site.
