The Managed Transportation Associate is responsible for assisting the Managed Transportation Operations Manager and Managed Transportation Operations Coordinator in the logistics operations of their accounts. The Managed Transportation Associate aids in client-focused operations and works with their team to synchronize route movement activities. Associates will be mentored by their peers while gaining valuable experience in an essential, fast-paced industry.
Primary Responsibilities: The Managed Transportation Associate is responsible for the following duties, responsibilities, and tasks included but not limited to:
1. Responsible for configuration of the TMS application to meet customer business requirements
2. Develop and publish training materials for all system users
3. Test and maintain system for accuracy of master data; troubleshooting and resolve any found issues of the TMS
a. Includes but limited to supplier payment process (accruals and batching), customer master data and integrations
4. Create, maintain, and distribute reports to support business intelligence needed to measure success and opportunities for all users. These reports will be developed using various selected reporting platforms (Power BI, Jaspersoft, Tableau, etc)
5. Create and deliver timely scheduled presentation materials to support business needs
6. Understand business objectives and develop process or technology-based solutions to provide continuous improvement for internal and external performance
7. Data entry into Transportation Management System (TMS) and completing clerical tasks as needed
8. Monitor risks for all shipments throughout relevant milestones
9. Monitor & resolve appointment scheduling requirements relative to delivery plan
10. Identify and analyze potential continuous improvement initiatives
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in progress (supply chain management or related field) or relevant experience
2. Preferred, experience with transportation across all modes, HOS regulations, equipment constraints, etc.
3. Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
4. Great interpersonal skills with ability to influence others without role power
5. Proven problem-solving ability; comfortable analyzing large data sets and presenting insights
6. Ability to interpret and understand industry documentation (i.e., market reports, SOP’s, etc.)
