About Scott Bridge

Scott Bridge Company builds structures that serve and sustain life. We provide construction and emergency response services for complex highway, railroad, marine, and energy infrastructure.

How you get to help us do that in this role

Empower and lead a crew of 4–8 craftspeople building a variety of amazing essential structures, including highway bridges, railroad bridges, dams, bulkhead walls, and marine structures with budgets as large as $100 million.

What you’ll get to do

  • Help build critical infrastructure by ensuring seamless progress on construction projects
  • Learn from knowledgeable Superintendents who will provide training and guidance to ensure success every step of the way
  • Raise up the next generation of construction craftspeople by training and mentoring new workers
  • Optimize work schedules to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion
  • Facilitate a spirit of family, teamwork, and productivity by collaborating with craftspeople and resolving work-related challenges
  • Protect people and the environment by ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Work outside in the fresh air with views from heights on elevated platforms, concrete forms over water, and floating barges
  • Champion safety and create a secure work environment for all team members. Receive clean, professional, properly fitted personal protective equipment (PPE), attend regular job safety trainings, and participate in safety/environmental initiatives to ensure your well-being and our compliance with State and Federal regulations.

About you

  • You know your way around bridge construction projects thanks to previous experience
  • You have experience leading teams as a Foreman, even if it’s not on bridge construction projects.
  • When you go to work, you go to win. You want to help people work as safely and efficiently as possible while producing high-quality work.
  • You’ve been putting in the time to master pile driving, crane operations, welding, carpentry, concrete, pile driving, and related areas.
  • You’re the go-to problem solver in your circle of friends. You’re in your sweet spot when you’re optimizing and providing solutions.
  • You want to be mentored by experienced industry professionals who will share their knowledge and develop your skills.

Even better (but not required) if you have

  • Experience working as a Foreman on bridge construction projects.

What’s in it for you

  • Premium Equipment — You and your crew will work with a current, well-maintained equipment fleet.
  • Well-Being — Whether you need someone to lend a compassionate ear, offer counsel during challenging times, or provide comforting words of encouragement, we have in-house Chaplains here to support you
  • Growth — We know it's hard to find good training in this industry. You won't be stuck in a role long-term if you don't want to be. If you put in the work, you'll receive hands-on training and opportunities to advance your skills and position. We look for every opportunity to grow and develop the best in our team.
  • Balance — While many heavy civil contractors work their teams 70-80 hours per week, you can expect to work an average of 50-60 hours per week.
  • Financial Security — We regularly research the industry market to ensure we can offer you above-average pay, an annual safety-based bonus and discretionary performance-based bonus, a 401K plan, and medical coverage.
