Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Structural Steel Bridge Ironworker to join our team at Scott Bridge Company, Inc. As a Structural Steel Bridge Ironworker, you will be responsible for the safe installation of steel bridge girders, columns, and other structural components. This role requires hands-on expertise in working with heavy materials, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to interpret blueprints. Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in structural steel assembly and demonstrate proficiency in using various iron working tools and equipment. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of our projects while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Install and secure steel girders and miscellaneous members according to project work plan and specifications.
- Assemble steel girder splices utilizing high strength bolts. This includes properly tensioning the bolts per project specifications.
- Attach rigging safely to steel components for crane lifting operations.
- Conduct inspections of structures and materials to maintain compliance with safety standards
- Operate tools and machinery needed for steel installation safely and efficiently
- Implement and adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in the use of ironworking tools and equipment
- Experience with rigging and lifting techniques
- Familiarity with structural steel fabrication and installation processes
