The Day to Day as a Branch Manager I
The Branch Manager I is responsible for the success of their branch. Success is measured by achieving sales goals, operational excellence and providing both an excellent member and employee experience. Branch Managers will use the tools provided by their Regional Manager to coach and develop their staff to educate and engage members, ensuring an outstanding member experience. A typical day will look like:
- Coordinates deposit, lending and member services functions in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Scott Credit Union and federal regulations. Ensures that all branch staff is performing their responsibilities with full knowledge and practice of compliance regulations, internal controls and security procedures.
- Coach, lead and motivate branch employees to recognize and offer members the products and services that will enhance their financial well-being. Promote participation in cross sales of products and services, including referrals to mortgage, business lending and Retirement and Investment Services; provide training where applicable. Meets with employees regularly on an individual and group basis to establish and reinforce sales/service goals.
Works directly with members and representatives of associated industries within our Field of Membership (i.e., SEG's, Community served) to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area. Participates in community activities and joins local organizations to promote and market the branch and Scott Credit Union.
Develops plans and schedules for the efficient use of materials, machines, technological equipment and employees resulting in outstanding service‑delivery.
- Directs preparation of appropriate branch accounting records. Recommends budgets to management relative to the physical, human resource, and other costs of the branch operation.
- Successfully drives results to attain branch goals in savings, lending, account relationships, transactions, profitability and cross-sell ratios.
- Sets clear expectations for employee performance and responsibilities, coordinates work and procedures, evaluates progress and provides feedback.
- Ensures timeliness and accuracy of branch reporting and assigned tasks. Review and research errors and ensure accountability of those involved as well as recognizing training and coaching opportunities. Responsible for providing prompt, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and courteous member service. Investigates member concerns, researches and finalizes a resolution. Ensure expectations are met for member service satisfaction results.
- Ensures that the branch image is favorable, reflecting a sound and secure financial institution that employs prudent housekeeping procedures, safety measures, and provides a pleasant atmosphere for members, including privacy, confidentiality, and ease of use.
- Ensures that all branch staff is performing their responsibilities with full knowledge and practice of compliance regulations, internal controls and security procedures. .
Performs other branch employees’ duties as needed.

To Be Considered, You’ll Need:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum five years of diversified experience working in a retail sales or financial services environment;
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience;
- Minimum two years’ experience providing financial services and deposit products in a customer service environment;
- Loan and deposit regulations experience;
- Personal computer experience to include Microsoft Office products. OR; Successful completion of all requirements of the Scott Credit Union Branch Manager Trainee Program.
