Scott Credit Union is calling all customer service and mortgage lending professionals who are interested in a full-time Mortgage Loan Processor I job in the Collinsville, IL area to apply to join our Mortgage Lending team! This position works Monday – Friday, normal business hours.

The Day to Day as a Mortgage Loan Processor I
Mortgage Loan Processor’s within authorized limits, and in accordance with sound underwriting practices as set out in policy and procedure, collects and analyzes information, calculate and verifies data, and recommends approval of borrower's applications for open and closed end mortgages. A typical day may look like:
- Processes mortgage applications received via the web, branch personnel, mail or fax and requests specified information for loan application.
- Submits applicant information through online underwriting tool to verify acceptance by secondary market.
- Analyzes applicant financial status, credit profile, and evaluates property to determine feasibility of granting loan.
- Maintains regular and consistent contact with member throughout processing term
- Corresponds with or interviews applicant and/or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
- Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to internal policy, applicable regulations and secondary market guidelines.
- Confers with department personnel to aid in resolving mortgage application problems.
- Analyzes potential lending opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union's lending portfolio.
- Cross sells borrowers on the benefits of utilizing other credit union services.
- Requests title insurance commitment and reviews to ensure the interest of the credit union and the member are protected in all transactions. Obtains additional documentation as may be required.
- Ensures compliance with final underwriting and appraisal conditions.

To Be Considered, You’ll Need:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- One year of financial institution experience.
- Personal computer experience, including Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications That Could Set You Ahead:
- Mortgage Loan experience.
- Experience with lending systems
