What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Scott Davis Chip Company, Inc.?
Duties:
-Primary duty is to operate a mobile knuckleboom (crane) to load/unload logs onto log trucks.
- Operate various types of heavy equipment, including but not limited to backhoe, , bulldozer, motor grader, and utility tractor.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain roads, assist with placing or removing irrigation from log piles, perform machine repair and other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in operating heavy equipment such as excavator, bulldozer, utility tractor, and/or mobile knuckleboom (crane).
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to heavy equipment operation.
- Physical stamina to operate heavy machinery for extended periods of time in both open & closed cab equipment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
