What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic position at Scott Electric Company?
South Main Trucking Co. currently has an opening at our Greensburg branch for a Mechanic. Responsibilities may include servicing and repairing vehicles, troubleshooting potential mechanical issues, preventative maintenance, and other duties as assigned. Daylight M- F 8:00 am-4:30 pm and Afternoon M- F 12:00 pm-8:00 pm.
MUST BE 21 YEARS or older.
Requirements:
- MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS!!!!!
- Prefer to have a Class 7 Inspection License
- Prefer to have a Class B Driver’s License
· Prefer to have some forklift mechanical knowledge
· Willing to travel to other branches to make repairs
- Must be able to pass the DOT Physical
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Previous Diesel experience isa must!
- Regularly lift 25-50lbs
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform repair and replacement work including but not limited to oil, tires, brakes, lamps, and various other parts.
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Electrical knowledge
- Basic computer skills
- Motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willing to learn and expand skill set
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Work overtime as required
- Must meet DOT regulatory requirements for operating company or related vehicles
- Familiar with all DOT regulations and truck operations
- Must sign all documentation to meet DOT regulations and company requirements
Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
