What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal Fabricator position at Scott Enterprises, Inc.?
Scott Enterprises, Inc. is a commercial roofing and sheet metal contractor based in Omaha. Our Business is growing, and we need your help as we continue to grow! We are adding a Sheet Metal Fabricator to our expanding team.
Requirements include:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports, drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Must have the ability to safely operate sheet metal cutting and bending equipment.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and changing production schedules.
- Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity and up to 100 pounds on occasion
- 1 to 2 years of sheet metal fabrication required.
- 1 to 2 years of experience working a computerized press brake.
Responsibilities include:
- Ordering materials in a timely fashion so as not to impair production or stock excess inventory that hurts the company?s cash flow.
- Assure the prudent and safe operation of the Fabrication Department?s equipment
- Practice good housekeeping. This entails regular sweeping and cleaning. Ensure that ?drop? and scrap is picked up at least daily and put in the recycle bin.
- Support and enhance intra-company relationships and take a proactive position in forging team relationships and complementary work relationships among the employees.
- Enforce the safety standards and policies for the Fabrication Department and all its workers.
- All material is to be properly shelved and stored within 48 hours of arrival.
- All finished material is to be staged for delivery in the proper ?shipping mode? in the area provided by the Warehouse Manager. Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager on the timing, stacking and containerization or palletization of staged finished goods.
- Work Orders are to be accurately completed (hours and materials) and turned over to the Warehouse Manager for creation of appropriate shipping documents. (Once the W/H Mgr. Is through with the work order it is then sent to the Lead Project Mgr. for review and then to the accounting department for data entry for proper job cost tracking.)
