Website Coordinator
Design Engaging Digital Experiences: Shape a User-Friendly and Visually Compelling Website for the Amazeum!
Type: Part Time, non-exempt position
Schedule: Approximately 20-30 hours a week with occasional weekends, events, and holidays.
Minimum starting hourly rate OR Salary: $17.50/hr
Scott Family Amazeum Overview
The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum in Northwest Arkansas and recognized as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We create a fun environment where risk taking, imagining, problem solving, discovery, collaboration, and exploration bring children and adults together to learn and grow.
Core Purpose: The Amazeum exists to spark and nurture the curious and creative spirit in all of us.
Through experiences with the Amazeum, individuals and the community are engaged in building relationships and developing identities as creative, curious, and innovative shapers for the region. Learning at the Amazeum is an active, playful exploration that inspires curiosity. It is rooted in inquiry-based discovery and involves an element of risk. Hands-on learning opportunities allow guests to exercise critical thinking in the context of play.
The Amazeum facility includes approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor space and one acre of outdoor exhibition and activity space. The museum is located at the intersection of Museum Way and J Street in Bentonville, AR.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Sr. Marketing & Communications Manager, the Website Coordinator will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the museum's online presence, ensuring an engaging and accessible website that supports strategic marketing, communications, and guest services initiatives. This position will focus on creative web design, content management, and digital asset coordination rather than deep technical development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of user-friendly web design principles, brand consistency, and digital storytelling.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the website's daily operations, including updates, performance monitoring, and content management.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to enhance the website’s user experience and accessibility.
- Develop wireframes and design concepts to communicate design ideas to stakeholders.
- Manage creative assets for web use, including resizing, optimizing, and ensuring consistency across platforms.
- Utilize CMS functionality to update content and improve site navigation for usability.
- Implement best practices for accessibility and user-friendly design to enhance the visitor experience.
- Monitor web analytics and recommend improvements based on user behavior and engagement trends.
- Coordinate with external vendors for hosting and development support.
- Stay current with digital trends and recommend updates or new technologies to enhance the site.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of experience managing websites
- 1 years of experience with Content Management Systems (CMS)?
- 1 years of experience with HTML
- Strong understanding of user-friendly design principles and best practices.
- Experience managing creative assets for web use.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to life up to 25 lbs. for handling equipment or printed materials.
- Ability to move within the office or museum spaces to collaborate with teams.
- Ability to perform work in an environment with moderate to excessive noise.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar graphic design tools.
- Familiarity with wireframing tools and techniques for visualizing website updates.
- Ability to communicate design concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with SEO strategies to optimize content visibility.
- Familiarity with museum or educational organization websites.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in digital design.
