Responsibilities for Chief Business Affairs Officer
The Associate Director will be responsible for overseeing the Manager within the Business Affairs department
Access to capital for Veteran small businesses through Veteran-specific financial products / services
Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Refinement
Enhance Chase’s Veteran-specific distribution channels through internal and external mentorship and grant programs
Through mentorship, sponsorship and grant programs, make Veteran entrepreneurs and small business owners loan-ready
Develop internal and external public, private, and non-profit partnerships (e.g., Small Business Administration, Department of Labor, Department of Defense, Institute for Veterans and Military Families) to collaboratively address the small business needs of Veterans
Partner with Supplier Diversity to enhance use of Veteran-owned small businesses at JPMC
Collaborate extensively with Global Philanthropy to identify strategic non-profit organizations that will enhance MVA’s small business goals (e.g., substantive tech and business mentoring for Veteran small business, grants to Veteran-owned small businesses)
This position will be expected to assist with, provide support for and/or directly handle the evaluating, structuring, negotiating and implementing of a wide range of agreements the ongoing supervision of those deals
Draft agreements for writers in connection with the production of Original Programming Turnaround and Quitclaim Agreements
Qualifications for Chief Business Affairs Officer
Strong understanding of how shows are financed
2 years of experience negotiating talent deals
3-5 years of experience in Business and/or Legal Affairs
Familiarity with production clearance issues
Structuring and negotiating deals with key personnel in the UK and internationally, such as writers, authors, executive producers, development producers, directors, actors, composers, producers
Structuring and negotiating ancillary deals relating to scripted productions including the exploitation of digital media rights, publication rights, merchandising and licensing rights, soundtrack album rights and any related sponsorship arrangements.
