Machine and Fabricator Technician Job Description:
You will play a crucial role in the manufacturing and equipment building/refurbishment process. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines and tools to produce precision parts and instruments. You will also be expected to adhere to strict quality control standards and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Set up and operate lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate metal and plastic parts.
· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations and specifications.
· Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet quality and tolerance standards using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
· Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery and equipment.
· Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
· Maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders, job sheets, and inspection reports.
· Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining, metal fabrication and/or electrical experience is preferred.
· Minimum of four years of experience in machining and fabrication in a manufacturing environment.
· Electrical experience with 120, 240, 480v and PLC knowledge is beneficial.
· Welding experience with MIG welder and using plasma and torch sets is beneficial.
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
· Experience with various machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and precision measuring instruments.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
