Job Description
We seek a dedicated and compassionate .5 FTE School Counselor to support students identified within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. The primary focus of this role will be to provide targeted counseling services to students on MTSS plans, collaborate with staff, and utilize data-driven approaches to support students' academic, social, and emotional success. Currently, at Scott, our grade-level counselors loop with students. This position would provide additional support for all grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with students identified within the MTSS framework to provide individualized and group counseling support focusing on specific skills such as academic improvement, social-emotional development, coping strategies, and behavioral interventions.
- Attend regular MTSS meetings with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to review student progress, assess interventions, and adjust support plans as necessary.
- In addition, partner with grade level counselors to meet with individual students.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in School Counseling or provisionally licensed.
- Valid School Counselor Certification or Provisional License
- Experience working within an MTSS framework or similar tiered intervention model is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of social-emotional learning, behavioral interventions, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for supporting students' academic, social, and emotional well-being.
Working Conditions:
- Part-time, 0.5 FTE (hours to be determined).
- School year position, following the academic calendar.
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
