Job Description
The Divisional Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the operations, performance, and culture of the division. This role ensures a professional, positive, and safe work environment founded on consistency, respect, and continuous improvement. The Divisional Manager is accountable for achieving operational goals, fostering employee development, and delivering exceptional customer service, all while maintaining compliance with company policies and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and uphold a professional, respectful, and positive work environment focused on improvement and accountability.
- Foster a culture of safety and positivity within the division.
- Act as the primary representative of customer service within the division, promoting a “customer first” mindset throughout the team.
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate employees to build and maintain a skilled and qualified workforce.
- Ensure employees are properly trained for their roles and responsibilities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence within the team.
- Manage division performance, including profit and loss (P&L) statements, sales, maintenance, reporting, and compliance.
- Maintain accurate daily inventory levels to meet the needs of both customers and the company.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of inventory for packaged products and appliances, as well as annual reconciliations for small parts and fittings.
- Collaborate with the Credit Department to meet targeted collection percentage goals.
- Review weekly collection reports and submit detailed credit updates to the Credit Manager.
- Ensure division locations meet daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping standards to create a safe and appealing environment for employees and customers.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing customers while cultivating new opportunities to grow the division’s customer base.
- Submit weekly “call sheets” to the Regional Manager to report progress, key initiatives, and customer insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of leadership or management experience, preferably in a similar industry.
- Proven experience in inventory management, customer service, and operational compliance.
- Experience managing multi-location operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize in-house software systems, including ADDS.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
- A comprehensive understanding of operational and financial metrics, including P&L management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A commitment to fostering a safe, productive, and customer-focused workplace.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with periodic travel to field locations.
- Extended hours during peak business periods or project deadlines.
