Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Art Consultant to join our team. This individual will play a key role in engaging with clients, advising on art acquisitions, and developing relationships with collectors and designers. The ideal candidate is passionate about contemporary art, possesses strong sales acumen, and thrives in a high-end gallery setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance to clients on acquiring contemporary art based on their collection needs, aesthetic preference and budget parameters.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with collectors, designers, and industry professionals to expand the gallery’s client base.
- Manage and oversee sales transactions, including negotiating prices, preparing sales documentation, and coordinating logistics.
- Stay informed on contemporary art trends, market values, and artists represented by the gallery.
- Assist in curating exhibitions, planning events, and coordinating art fairs to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Conduct private viewings and consultations to provide a personalized experience for clients.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop promotional materials, social media content, and outreach strategies.
- Maintain an organized inventory system and ensure proper handling and presentation of artworks.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Business, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in art sales, advisory, or gallery management.
- Strong understanding of contemporary art and market dynamics.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a high-end or luxury setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in artwork specific inventory database Artsy, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop.
- Knowledge of art handling and installation best practices is a plus.
