Barista/Cashier

Scott’s Malibu Market is an exciting new restaurant coming to the Malibu community! We are located in the well-known, Malibu Country Mart shopping center, right next to Pepperdine University. Our restaurant will provide Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Catering, along with a full Coffee/Pastry/Dessert program. We are excited to bring a new fun, neighborhood gathering spot, right along the PCH.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and crafting delicious coffee beverages. If you have a passion for coffee, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent customer service skills, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, iced teas, other beverages and more

- Have menu knowledge of all our pastries and desserts, with ingredients used, for allergy/dietary purposes

- Take customer orders and ensure accuracy in preparation and delivery

- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations

- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area

- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products

- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and smooth workflow

Experience:

- Previous experience as a Barista or in the food industry is preferred

- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage equipment is a plus

- Familiarity with Toast POS or other point-of-sale systems is beneficial

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner

- Basic math skills for cash handling and order preparation
