Scott Steel, LLC is looking for a self-motivated, highly capable Production Associate to support our company’s plant operations.
As a Production Associate, you are responsible for all job activities required to support production processes. These activities may include but are not limited to:
- Receiving, stacking, storing, shipping, and transferring of all material and supplies
- Banding of material off machines
- Material identification
- Inspecting for quality conformance
- Use of internal ERP system to receive and track use of material
The ultimate goal of the Production Associate is to achieve excellence in all facets of the role; providing the highest quality service safely, while effectively and efficiently increasing profits.
Responsibilities:
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Learn, understand, and follow all plant safety rules, policies and procedures
- Follow all set-up and operational procedures to ensure accuracy and quality
- Run entry-level equipment and ensure all processes are completed per standard operating procedures
- Process, package and ship orders accurately
- Inspect products for defects and damages
- Examine outgoing shipments
- Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items appropriately
- Check, verify and fill customer invoices
- Perform clean-up activities in production areas as assigned.
- Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize plant procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Basic math & reading skills
- Possess good problem solving and troubleshooting skills and safety practices
- Possess a high level of initiative and personal accountability
- Ability to perform in a fast paced work environment
- Attention to detail and consistent work patterns
- Experience in a warehouse, production or manufacturing environment preferred
- Basic computer program knowledge for data entry
- Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious
- Ability to learn and operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
- Forklifts Certification a plus but not required
- Overhead cranes experience a plus but not required
- Previous experience with precision instruments a plus but not required
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age and older
- High School or GED equivalent.
- Team player with organizational skills
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to lift or move heavy products
- Basic math skills and functional literacy
- Working knowledge of general computer programs
- Self-motivated with ability to work under general supervision
