Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of respiratory care of infants, toddlers, preschool, school age, and adolescents, with both medical and surgical, orthopedic, and neurological conditions, as well as children with developmental disabilities
- Role encompasses direct patient care by providing patient assessments, interventions, and coordination of respiratory plan of care
- Assist the Respiratory Clinical Manager in the education of staff, patients, and families; performs thorough developmentally-appropriate respiratory assessment
- Communicate and collaborate with other health care professionals, patients and families.
- Perform comprehensive respiratory care evaluations for the patient (inpatient and outpatient) population and families
- Assess the need for respiratory care-related equipment and supplies
- Participate in performance improvement efforts related to respiratory therapy
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school for respiratory care
- Respiratory Therapist (RRT) per the National Board of Respiratory Care required
- Current license to practice Respiratory Care by the Texas Medical Board
- Minimum 2 years of acute care practice; pediatric experience and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) preferred
- Current license with the Texas Department of Health required
- Current BLS and PALS Certification required
