Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
- In Surgical Services, the RN prescribe, delegate, and coordinate the nursing care provided for school age and adolescents patients
- Professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, for a designated time frame, and provides quality care to these patients
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Hold current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or is eligible for reciprocity and holds a temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners to practice professional nursing
- 3-5 years of pre/post op, NICU or PICU experience required
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- Must obtain PALS certification within 1 year of employment
- Demonstrate advanced and mature critical thinking and assessment skills
