Scottsdale Eye Surgery Center (SESC) is seeking a Front Desk Associate to join our team! Front desk associates are responsible for patient registration and verification of correct details prior to surgery, communicating with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of patient admission, communicating with surgeon/anesthesia offices for block times, and maintaining a pleasant environment in the waiting area.
SESC is open Monday through Friday - no weekends, no holidays. This position is on a set schedule; approximate hours are 8:30am-5:00pm each day.
Responsibilities:
· Courteously welcome patients to Scottsdale Eye Surgery Center; register the patient; make copies of insurance cards and ID.
· Answer the phone, handle phone transfers, place calls on hold, and appropriately page clinical personnel.
· Communicate with front office lead and staff to ensure smooth office operations.
· Follow all facility policies on scheduling, patient admission, chart management, phone, etc.
· Participate in regular communications with scheduling offices about block time, as well as professional management of scheduling issues with referring offices. Participate in daily communication with anesthesia providers for selection of operating rooms, and evening call to review next day’s schedule changes.
· Recognize insurance plans accepted by Scottsdale Eye Surgery Center prior to scheduling procedures.
· Maintain appropriate levels of office supplies.
· Maintain accurate records for scheduling, for pre and post area surgery, and all other front office and/or patient records.
Qualifications:
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Experience working in a medical office/front desk setting is highly preferred.
· Familiarity with preparing/auditing/filing patient charts. Familiarity with HIPAA Privacy Laws.
· Ability to multitask; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience utilizing office equipment including computer, scheduling software, printer/copy machine, fax machine, etc.
· CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
· High school graduate.
