POSITION OBJECTIVE :
The job of teacher on assignment K-12 is done for the purpose(s) of assisting and supporting Special Education teachers and staff and communicating with Special Education Administration.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
- Attend IEP meetings at assigned complexes or as needed at any site;
- Support staff in writing compliant IEP's and use of electronic IEP system;
- Support staff in area of transition; training, activities, IEP development, post high school transition planning;
- Support staff in area of curriculum and behavior management;
- Communicate and collaborate with administrators and staff in order to ensure compliance and programming success;
- Develop and present professional development training as needed;
- Plan for and oversee extended school year program;
- Monitor and oversee Alternate assessment with staff;
- Collaborate with other Special Education TOA's;
- Participate in district and building meetings as required;
- Participate in professional development training;
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Positions in this class typically require : reaching, standing, walking, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
